White Space Art Asia is pleased to present ‘Mixed Materiality’, an exhibition dedicated to exploring the relationship between medium and message. Featuring an international roster of artists, the show offers a diversity of approaches that challenge the boundaries of art.
Mixed Materiality lies at the crossroads of reality and imagination. Made with unconventional mediums such as bone china and diasec print, each piece is a gateway into new and unexplored frontiers. With extraordinary, otherworldly designs, the artworks are an invitation into a world synthesised through pure form alone. From Vasso Frakgou’s undulating waves and Petr Weigl’s inimitable style, Mixed Materiality is a collection of works that encourages us to look at the world through a new lens. With the mixture of minds on display, Mixed Materiality redefines art, its mediums and the paradigms that underpin it.
Petr Weigl creates topographic narratives that explore the intricacies of the world around him. Creating fluidity from solid materials, Weigl’s works challenge the very qualities of his media, inviting a closer contemplation of his pieces and practice. Weigl finds inspiration from his past, present and how he perceives himself in the world.

Juliana’s works are deeply inspired by her connection to nature and its ever-evolving fluidity. Entranced by the rhythm and melodies of nature, her works seek to capture a delicate balance of continual harmony and tension. It mirrors her artistic process as she flits from one disposition to another throughout her creative journey. The elemental movement of water and light are important sources of inspiration for her as she constantly experiments with mixed media, sand, glass, metals along with a variety of colour pour, plaster and resin manipulation, spray and brush techniques to achieve a sense of interaction, complexity and layering so that each work feels alive and in a constant state of change.
