In the vast, rousing landscapes of Zhang Wen’s oeuvre, lies an intimate celebration of childhood innocence. Set in natural backdrops of rivers, mountains and open fields, the Chinese artist forges a parallel between the simple yet profound emotions found in both nature and childhood, recreating a time unadulterated by the complexities of adulthood. In her works are a wistful wisdom that acknowledges the irony of innocence only being recognised retrospectively from the vantage point of experience.

ABOUT ‘THE TALES OF INNOCENCE AND EXPERIENCE’
White Space Art Asia is proud to announce our latest show, ‘The Tales of Innocence and Experience’, a group exhibition featuring Chinese artists Du Xue, Han Fang and Zhang Wen.
‘The Tales of Innocence and Experience’ is a coming-of-age journey that explores the path of adolescence to adulthood. From Zhang Wen’s heartfelt portrayal of childhood naivete, to Du Xue’s thoughtful portraiture of womanhood, and the rich lessons and fables in Han Fang’s historical myths, the exhibition is an odyssey through universal experiences. Carried out in mediums of Chinese ink, oil, and acrylic, the show is a global delight of Eastern and Western sensibilities.
For a limited two week-run, view the show in person at our gallery, located at 1H Yong Siak Street, S168641, from 26 May to 4 June 2023.
