KYOTO is old Japan, the thousand-year capital, a time capsule of quiet temples, sublime gardens and colourful shrines. Impossibly charming ancient streets stirs the imagination, and geishas, sublime and ethereal float by, cast in the half-shadows of lantern light.
White Space Art Asia presents our latest show, simply titled Kyoto, a solo exhibition by Wang Zi Jiang. Wang was trained as a Chinese ink painter at the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts, and migrated to Japan in the eighties. Kyoto represents his twenty-eight years of impression and love for Japan.
Wang Zi Jiang will be present at the opening reception on Friday, 29th September and on Saturday 30th September, and will bring to life a large-scale two-metre painting. Working from a blank sheet of rice paper, the artist will showcase his unique fusion of Japanese and Chinese ink.
